McArley, general secretary of the New Zealand Loco' Engine-drivers' Firemen and Cleaners' Association, died yesterday. The following appointments are gazetter.—Mr. W. Nicholson (temporary officer) to be an assistant meat inspector, Department of Agriculture; Mr. 0. H, Barker, inspector under the Slaughtering and Inspection Act. District Land Registrars: Mr. F. W. Broughton, Marlborough; Mr. W. Johnston, Nelson; Mr. W. P. Morgan, Westland.
