NEW ZEALAND KUCISY UNION, MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETWG. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. The management committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union met to-night. The Marlborough Union sent a communication that the Northern League agent was in Blenheim endeavoring to arrange a practice game. It asked for authoritative information that players taking part could be disqualified. The Marlborough Union, it was stated, could he relied on for a very firm stand. The secretary notified that he had replied , "Players taking part in Northern League practice games are liable to expulsion." His action was confirmed.
New South Wales Union wrote relative to the adjustment of accounts in connection with, tours of American Universities and New Zealand teams in 1910. They stated that as the Australian team, which was to visit America, would be in Wellington on September 12th, and 13th. the N.S.W. Council had delegated Dr Otto Bohrsmann, manager of the team, and secretary of the union, power to confer with representatives of the New Zealand Union, with a view to a settlement of the matter. The N.S.W. Union !had given its delegate full power to settle the whole matter, and it was suggested that the representatives of the New Zealand Union carry the same power so that matters could be finally adjusted. The New Zealand union was requested to arrange for the N.S.W. players to have the use of a ground for training purposes, while in Wellington. The secretary stated that arrangements for ground were being made. In regard to the matter of the conference with N.S.W. delegates, a sub-committee was set tip, with power to act. The entertainment of the team while in Wellington was left to a sub-committee. A rather unusual point cropped up, in an appeal received concerning (he refusal of the Motueka sub-union to permit a certain match to be re-played. A player in the match was ordered off the field and in due course came before the Motueka sub-union. He was exonerated and his clul) then contended that his absence as a result of being ordered off affected the result of the game, which, they desired, should he re-played. This the sub-union refused to do.* Any appeal to the Nelson Union on the matter was ruled out of order. An appeal was therefore forwarded to the New Zealand Union. After a lengthy discussion it was decided to inform the Nelson Union that they must give a decision on the matter. FRIENDLY MATCH.
