Continuing his campaign in the Opunalte district. .Mr. (\ A. Wilkinson visited Kalmi road on Wednesday iil'ternoon. Mrs. Hill was voted to the chair, a position sdiu lilted to the satisfaction of the audience. A hearty vote of thanks was tendered Mr. Wilkinson for his addrees, oh the motion of Mr. Stonex, after which a committee was formed to ivork in Mr. Wilkinson's interests. In the evening Mr. Wilkinson addressed electors at Oaonui. The had weather conditions told against a big attendance. An interesting review of polities was given by the candidate, and after answering questions lie was tendered a hearty vote of thanks for his address and of confidence in him as a suitable representative, on the motion of ; Messrs. A. Lusk and C. Jeffries, which was carried unanimously. A committee was formed with Mr. McTie as secre-1 tary.—(Contributed.) _Mr. D. L. A. Astbnry, the Progressive Liberal candidate, is meeting with great success wherever he goes. At Mangatoki fully 200 persons were present, Mr. J. Marx presiding. Mr. Astbnry made a fine fighting speech, and created a very/ good impression. Thirty persons remained behind to form a committee, Mr. Curteis being 'appointed chairman, arid Mr. J. A. Marx secretary. At Matapu, although a' wretched night from a weather point of view, there was a fair number present. At the conclusion of the address. Mr. Crash, in moving a vote of thanks to Mr. Astbnry, congratulated him on 'his eloquent speech,_ which he pointed out was entirely free from personalities. A good committee was formed, with Mr. yi. Guy as chairman and Mr. Harrison secretary. At Kapuni, although the weather conditions were again unfavorable, there, was a good muster. Mr. Astbnry trenchantly with leading political questions, referring particularly to the graduated land tax, Civil Service Reform Bill, concessions to children travelling with parents on the railways, and with the actions of the Government in connection with the £BOO,OOO post office loan. In moving the customary vote of thanks-, Mr. J. Crowley said the address was the finest he had ever heard delivered. A very strong committee was formed, with Mr. Knight chairman and !
