THE EGMONT SEAT.

ME. WILKINSON AT OPUA ROAD. Mr. C. A. Wilkinson, Reform candidate, addressed the electors at Opua Road on Tuesday afternoon, and received a hearty vote of thanks for his address, and confidence in him as a suitable representative. The mover and seconder respectively were Messrs. Brown and Callendar, and the motion was carried unanimously. Mr. T. H. Sinclair presided. A eommitt.ee was afterwards formed, with Mr. Sinclair as secretary, to further Mr. Wilkinson's interests. In the evening Mr. Wilkinson visited Pihama, but owing to had weather the attendance numbered only about fifty. Mr. A. Allen presided. The candidate gave a bright and vi<*orous_ address, and answered a lot of questions. Mr. S. Campbell moved a hearty vote of thanks to Mr. Wilkinson for his address. Mr. A. McKeown, in seconding the motion, said that the address had been a social treat, and, with one exception (an address by Mr. T. Mackenzie), Mr Wilkmson's was the best speech that had been given in the local hall A committee of twenty was afterwards formed to work for Mr. Wilkinson a return, Mr. A.
