EGMONT LICENSING BENCH
The quarterly meeting of the Egmont Licensing Committee was held at the Eltham. Courthouse yesterday morning. Mr. G. W. K. Kenrick presided, and with him were Messrs. Dudley, A. IT. Guy, L. Hill and Strack. Transfers of the licenses of the Rahotu Hotel from George Emery to Henry Mullholland (Mr. Rvan supporting this application) and the, Oeo Hotel from William Francis to Alex. R. Amoore were granted. Messrs. Ryan (Hawera) and Standish (New Plymouth) respectively appeared to support the transfers. The only other business was the matter of Middleton's Hotel, Opunake (proprietor, Mr. W. K. Oonnell). Sergeant Hadler was present on .behalf of the police, and Mr. Walsh for the proprietor. The case was before the committee at the last quarterly meeting, and the Bench decided that any evidence that existed would only be used if at next meeting a further charge was brought with reference to the conduct Of this hotel.—Eltham Argus.
