ALLEGED PERJURY.

STRONG MAGISTERIAL COMMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchureli, Saturday. The Magistrate. Mr. Bishop, made sharp comment on the circumstances of a case in "which Wilfred Gray was charged with riding a motor cycle on May 24 at excessive speed. The charge had been dismissed at a previous hearing, when Gray stated that he had a holiday, which he spent at home, and that his bicycle at the time was being overhauled. To-day evidence was given that Gray had not a holiday and was in town on May 24. The Magistrate, in convicting Gray, said he presumed a prosecution for perjury would follow, if the evidence in the hands of the police warranted that course.
