He had an interview with Mr. McElhone, of the Aus-| tralian Board of Control, who stated that the Board could not see its way to allow the Australian eleven to play matches in New Zealand on the way frnan America to Australia. lie thought the New Zealand Council could secure a good team from the New South Wales Association! if that body was approached.
