INDENTURED LABOR. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright, Sydney, August 30. D. Manibal, a prominent Indian barrister, arrived en route for "Fiji, where, be will investigate the question of indentured Indian labor. According to him, touts in India, with the connivance of Europeans, induced Indians, by false hopes and glowing pictures, to leave bom under contracts, of whoso, 1 conditions they were ignorant. He declares that the leading men in India are strongly averse to the emigration of indentured labor. Indians are wanted at home to develop the industries and resources of the country. Only the riffraf migrate as a rule; but India does not want to lose even them. SNOW IN SYDNEY. Sydney, August 30. It is bitterly cold, and there is snow on the high lands. An impasse in the coastal shipping trade has arisen owing to the Wharf Laborers' Union declining to work the Hunter River Company's steamer owing to the employment of constant hands in the transhipping of cargo. NEW SOUTH WALES ELECTORS. Sydney, August 30. The new Federal electorates have been gazetted.
