Melbourne, Friday.—Arrived, AngloCalifornian, from New York. Auckland, Friday. —Arrived, at 4 a.m., Zealandia, from Sydney. THE RARAWA. The Rarawa arrived from Onehunga yesterday morning with 114 tone of gen- | eral cargo, including 11 tons tons sugar and 174 cases pf fruit. - THE ROSAMOND. The Rosamond was expected to "arrive last night from Wellington, Picton and Nelson with 300 tons of general cargo. THE KAPITI. The Kapiti, which was expected to arrive from Puponga on Thursday night, had not, up to last evening, put in an appearance. She'is probably sheltering from the heavy weather* THE IHUMATA. The Ihumata was expected to leave Sydney for New Plymouth direct yesterday or to-day. She should arrive Ijere about Wednesday or Thursday. Tke Kauri, the Union Company's new purchase, which is to replace the,wrecked Kotuku, and which arrived at Melbourne the other day, is a large cargocarrier of 2833 tons gross register, and has a dead-weight carrying capacity of 5050 tons. Her dimensions are: Length i 325 ft lin, breadth 47ft, depth 22ft 3in. She was built at Hartlepool in 1905 and is classed 100 A 1 at Lloyd's. The Kauri is nearly the same size as the Whangape, and is a notable addition to the Red Funnel fleet of cargo-carriers. The demands made upon the latter have been , exacting since the New Year, consequently instructions were cabled home for another vessel to replace the Kotuku, with the result that the new vessel has almost reached her destination. t
