A LAUNCHING CEREMONY. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, August 2:t. The Agents-General were present at the launching of the cruiser Sydney. Captain Collins said that in the coordination and consolidation of naval resurces lay the chief means of preserving the Empire, but that did not suffice without military co-ordination. In this respect Australia was setting «n example. r Admiral Henderson, replying to the toast of his wife s health, compared the defensive policies of the various Dominions. That of New Zealand was a policy of opportunism, but that of Australia was best for the Empire and the preservation of the autonomy of the Parliaments.
