SUPREME COURT.

INVERCARGILL SESSIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day Frederick Hansen was found guilty of carnal knowledge and sentenced to two years' imprisonment. The hearing of the libel case John Friend v. Alex. McGavock was continued. Defendant claimed justification of his charge that plaintiff had neglected his duty as a ranger for the Acclimatisation Society. The jury returned a verdict for plaintiff and assessed tire damages at £2. Costs were given against the defendant.
