Column's, the mustard manufacturers, are contributing £]ouo. A square mile of streets is inundated. Eighty bridges in East Anglia were destroyed. Dr. Mill attributes August's persistent rain to Rome obscure variation in the ocean temperature. It is desirable, with a view to the improvement of forecasts, to undertake a closer study of the temperatures of the ocean.
