THE COMMONWEALTH'S TROUBLE. By Cable.—Press Association—Copyrifht London, August 27. A correspondent in the Daily News alleges that the Commonwealth is faced with the necessity of prosecuting 20,000 boys for evading"drills. It is also alleged that the officers are unable to maintain discipline, and threaten to resign if the boys are not prosecuted. Suggestions are also being made that members of the Australian Freedom League should be prosecutad for sedition. COMPENSATING PARADES." London, August 27. Captain Collins, secretary to the Commonwealth, in an interview, explains that the Daily News correspondent has misunderstood the statistics, and is obviously unaware that those absent, with or without leave, are permitted to attend subsequent compensating parades. He quotes a statement in the Senate by Mr. Pearce, Minister of Defence.
