THEATRE EXITS.
A QUESTION OF LIGHTING. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Received 28, 9.35 p.m. Sydney, August 28. A number of theatrical managers are Brging the rescinding of Vae regulation copied from the London County Council, whereby the use of oil lamps is compulsory in the corridors and exits of theatres and places of entertainment. Recently a lamp burst with a loud Teport in the passage of a theatre. The audience were alarm, and a panic was narrowly averted. In response to representations, the Under-Secretary has promised to investigate the subject.
