Quong Hung, occupier of 110,,S! '. fined £25 for kcepin" a common gaming house. Notice of appeal was given. Yip Duck was convicted of a similar o/l'ence and was fined £4O. The cases -against one European and four Chinese were dismissed. The remainder were fined £2 each. A Chinaman named Joe Bung, who came off the Arahura this morning, was arrested by Detective Campbell. Opium was found in his possession. His frequent trips to Wellington aroused the Customs' suspicions, with the above result. He appeared .before the court today and was fined £4O.
