A SERVIAN MASSACRE,
By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Belgrade, August 23. Turks attacked and massacred many Servians at Dipitza. There is great excitement in Servia. The Cabinet discussed the situation, and presented a report to the King.
CLAMORING FOR WAR. FURTHER MASSACRES. TALES OF TERROR. Received 26, 12.20 a.m. Belgrade, August 20. Five thousand people met and denounced the Sienzita massacre. A procession passed the front of the palace, urging that war should be declared with Turkey. The Moslem inhabitants at Sienitza seized the arsenal, tooks the arms, and attacked the Christians.
Ilia Popovitch, the Prefect of Berann, who was educated at Serb, was assassinated in front of the Courts of Justice. Sienitza is still in a worse situation than Belopolch, where hundreds were killed.
The Turks are furious against the Montenegrins, and are apparently revenging themselves. Serb refugees are bringing to Servia terrible stories of Turkish atrocities.
The Times' Sofia correspondent states that crowded meetings of Macedonian delegates and Bulgarian politicians of all shades urged the Government to demand from Turkey and the great Powers the autonomy of Macedonia.
Reuter's Constantinople correspondent states that owing to the continued agitation in Bulgaria over the Kochana massacre, King Ferdinand will remain at Sofia.
M. Gueshoff, the Premier, has abandoned 'his proposed visit to Vichy. Some diplomatic circles consider that M. Berchtold's proposal is inopportune and calculated to increase the Macedonian Nationalist aspirations. The Porle has apparently resolved not to admit any of the Powers' suggestions tending for decentralisation. 11. de Giers has warned the Porte that any concessions to Albanians ought to be granted to other nationalities, and has urged the prompt punishment of those guilty of the Kochana massacre. He also demands measures to prevent a recurrence of such atrocities.
The Porte has proclaimed a state of siege at Kochana, and has ordered the guilty to be court-martialled. It is distributing thousands of pounds to the sufferers.
King Nicholas has assured the Powers that no Montenegrin will be allowed to cross the frontier.
Vienna, August 26. The cordiality of M, Berchtold's reception at Sinaia lias been accepted as an indication that Austria-Hungary's and Roumania's political aims are in accord with the promotion of tranouility in the Balkans.
A DIPLOMATIC VISIT.
Bucharest, August 25. Great importance is attached to the arrival of Count Berchtold, the Austrian Minister, and his "wife, as the King's guests at Sinaia.
