A DESPERATE ENGAGEMENT. By Oable.—Press Association—Copyright Constantinople, August 23. Four hundred Malissori, led by priests, attacked Durazzo, and were repulsed with thirty killed anil seventy wounded. Six of the defenders! were killed. FURTHER DESPERATE FIGHTING. HORRIBLE ATROCITIES. Received 25, 5.5 p.m. London, August 24. The Daily Chronicle's Constantinople correspondent reports that King Nicholas has called out the Montenegrin Army. Fighting is proceeding on "the frontier, as though war was declared. The destruction of- Christian villages near Berna has been resumed. Barbaric acts were witnessed, seven heads being carried on poles about Berna, and children mutilated. The Montenegrins have reoccupied Berana, and are besieging the Turks in the fort. Paris, August 24. The Montenegran Consul-General has received a despatch from Cettinje, wherein Montenegro protests against incessant Turkish fusilades on the frontier being directed against women and children.
THE MONTENEGRIN DISPERSED. Constantinople, August 25. Dyjvid has entered Berana, and the Montenegrins have dispersed. The situation on the frontier lias improved.
