Fighting is proceeding on "the frontier, as though war was declared. The destruction of- Christian villages near Berna has been resumed. Barbaric acts were witnessed, seven heads being carried on poles about Berna, and children mutilated. The Montenegrins have reoccupied Berana, and are besieging the Turks in the fort. Paris, August 24. The Montenegran Consul-General has received a despatch from Cettinje, wherein Montenegro protests against incessant Turkish fusilades on the frontier being directed against women and children.

THE MONTENEGRIN DISPERSED. Constantinople, August 25. Dyjvid has entered Berana, and the Montenegrins have dispersed. The situation on the frontier lias improved.
