Two seamen on a German ■hip were sentenced to six weeks' imprisonment for desertion. While one named Cosick was being placed in the police van he got free and rushed at Captain Preiss, master of the ship. He ■tabbed the captain twice in the oack. ITie captain was removed to the hospital, and his condition is serious, his thick coat saving him. Cosick was rearrested.
