A graphic report of the collision states that the vessel was travelling dead slow, and this prevented a serious disaster Her stern was driven in ten feet above the waterline. The boats were swung out, and there ,vas no. panic, though many apprehended a rnir-rif.ion of the Titanic disaster. The berg towered high above the vessel, and hundreds of tons of ice fell aboard.
