THE HAY-PAUNCEFOTE TREATY. By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright New York, August 21. Mr. Taft announces his willingness to sign the Panama Canal Bill, as it stands, coupling therewith a recommendation that legislation be passed later showing other nations that the United States does not desire to abrogate the Hay-Pauneefote treaty..TAFT'S RESOLUTION REJECTED. Received 22, 11.15 p.m. Washington, August 22. Both Houses rejected President Taft's Panama Canal resolution. . Taft is undecided as to his future actions. He believes that Congress will be more amenable after the elections.
