FIRES.
BLAZE AT NAPIER. By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, Monday. A two-storey house at the Port, owned by C. V. Brown and occupied by M:rs. Casey, was completely gutted early this morning. Nothing was saved. The insurance on the building was £250 m the United, and -on the furniture £125 in the Royal Exchange. SHOP DESTROYED AT PALMERSTON SOUTH. 14 Dunedin, Last Night. Last night Sharp and McXab's drapery shop at Palmcrston was totally destroyed by fire. The ibuilding was owned by the trustees of the estate of Robt. Johnson. The insurance on the building is unknown. The contents were insured for £SOO in the New Zealand Insurance Office, but the loss is estimated at £SOO above that amount. Milligan's tailoring shop, adjoining, was scorched and damaged by water. If your property is not insured, call at or ring up the United Insurance Company, Ltd., Devon street; telephone 198.
