At the usual monthly sitting of the Magistrate's Court, before Mr. Ke»rick, S.M., judgment was given for the -plaintiffs by default in the follpwing cases:--* E. C. Hughes v. Frank Standing, claim £3 12s, with costs lis; Hopkinson and Duddy v. F. J. Christian, claim £2 16a 7d, costs 12s; Elizabeth Miller t, Timothy Muiphy, claim £5 Is fid, costs £1 17s 6d; same v. Hugh E. Bennett, claim £6, costs £1 lis 6d; G. Gudgeon v. John Mackenzie, claim £3 10s, costs 10s; Nicholls and Sol v. R. G. Hickson, claim £25, costs £3 Is; Thomas Drake r. Joseph Hopkinson, claim £27 10s, [costs £2 Hi'; same v. J. Nielson, claim £7 15s lOd, costs £1 0s 6d. A .number of cases were either confessed or settled out of court. ALLEGED BREACHES t)F' BY-LAWS. Two informations under the Moa Road Board by-laws' against traction enginedrivers were, by the request of the board's solicitor, adjourned until next Court day,' September 12.
