Afternoon Tea.—A most charming and recherche afternoon tea was given by Mrs. C. 11. Burgess last Thursday afternoon in aid of the new mountain house, and each guest was requested to bring eilher a d'oyley, towel or tray-cloth, which brought forth excellent results. Some of the things were simply exquisite; in fact, to mj mind, just a trifle
too dainty. To exercise one's mental faculties, a prize was given to the one who could guess the number of things that were brought, and was awarded to Mrs. Collis (220), MLss Rennell being sscDnd with 210. The correct number was
