Received 17, 12.30 a.m. Washington, August 16. ■ Tlie Senate has passed a Bill giving euect to the fur seal treaty with Britain, Japan and Russia for the pretention of the seal fisheries in the North Pacific. Senator Pomerene secured consideration of a motion directing the AttorneyGeneral to proceed against the officers of the Standard Oil and American Tobacco companies under the criminal code, charging them with violation of the antitrust statutes.
