Jack Johnson has signed articles for a fight against Jeannette for £SOOO ou September 25. TOURNAMENT AT AUCKLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Thursday. The Northern Boxing Association held a. successful carnival last night, when two professional and three amateur contests were fought. Results:— Bantam-weight (amateur): H. Gilchrist beat G. Brown on points. Light-weight (amateur); Gordon Menzies beat S. Whalley on points. Heavy-weight (amateur): C. Savoury beat J. Hales (counted out in the second round). Feather-weight (professional): JJ. Harris (South Africa) drew with Harry Johns (London), after a very close fight. Welter-weight (professional): George Olsen beat Bert Murphy. The latter retired in the seventh round.
