BUSINESS NOTICES.
Ladies are invited by Morey and Son to call and inspect the latest white lace curtains. Most folk like to be smart about the feet. There's a charm about the smartly"'footed,", and there's expense, too, as a rule. That rule, however, is to be .broken for a while at McEwen Bros' sale, which commences on Saturday. Everyone will be interested to learn all about this sale, and we therefore confidently turn our attention to the advertisement of this popular boot and shoe firm, which will be found on the leader page. This is to be a big sale, for Messrs McEwen Bros, have the largest stock of footwear in the whole of the Taranaki district.
Harry Lauder has made famous the phrase, "Stop yer tickiin', Jock." Mr. D. Clegg in this issue heads his new advertisement, "Stop your sliiverin', Jock!" The way to keep warm is to wear Clegg's warm woollen underwear, which is being offered at sensational reductions for a few days at this popular lnglewood establishment.
Mr. ]}. Clough, of Inglewood, is cutting down prices of ladies' coats so as to get quit of them in the next week or so. Such high quality coats are seldom offered at the very low prices l lie is asking. More "startlers" at the Melbourne's great reduction sale. Men's saddle tweed trousers reduced to 7s 6d pair; men's Petone suits, splendid for knockabout wear, reduced to 3os; boys' best quality celluloid collars, with metal buttonholes, reduced to 5d each; President braces, "easiest" brace on the market, reduced to 2s 3d.
That which receives the appreciation of all people is "how to save money." Every one has friends to whom thev must make presents, and the jeweller's shop is of greatest consequence in this respect, especially when goods are being retailed at half ordinary value. The beautiful assortment of goods now at Alf. M. Skeates' sale of jewellery prove the truth of the above statements. Goods are marked showing original cost and reduced cost side by side in plain figures so that you can «see what you are saving. Address, near Post Office, Devon street, New Plymouth.
This week at Morcy and Moore's, King street, is displayed a very special lot of linen goods in tray cloths, runners, squares, sideboard cloths, table centres, etc., from Is each. English sample go«ds to order from any new designs. Ambury's sale has been an unqualified success and their big reduction prices have now terminated, and annual stocktaking is now in full swing. As the staff goes through the departments all oddments are turned out, and for a few days these oddments, including trimmed millinery, a few winter costumes, coats and blouses, can be secured at and far below half price, and a table of remnants will be cleared at heavy reductions to make room for big shipments of spring goods to arrive.
Country residents will do well to write for some of the bargains in baby linen clearing at White and Sons. ' Many lines in robes, slips, gowns, flannels, etc., are reduced by half. Money returned in full if not pleased. Mention price wanted when ordering. We have a big range to choose from.
