A TRIPLE TRAGEDY.
MURDER AND SUICIDE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyrigkt. Received 15, 10 p.m. Sydney, August 10. A tragedy lias occurred at Lilyfiel'd. A man named Harry Johnston fatally shot George Morgan and wounded Morgan's wife. He then shot himself in the mouth. Morgan took his intended wife to his brother's place to stay on Saturday, and married her yesterday. At dinner time to-day Morgan came home and asked his wife to accompany him to the back yard, where he found Johnston. After some heated talk, Johnson drew a revolver and shot Morgan and his wife. Then rushing through the house he shot himself on the footpath. A SORDID STORY. Received 15, 10.30 p.m. Sydney, August 15. There are varying stories regarding the tragedy. One is that the woman is the wife of Johnston, and that she quarreled with her husband and left him. Morgan took her to her brother's house in the name of Miss Russell, stating that he intended to marry her. It is uncertain if he did. She was admitted tc the hospital in the name of Mrs. Johnston. .suffering from' a bullet wound through the hand and a blow on the head with the butt of a revolver. Johnston is serious]v injured. Morgan received two bullets in tha head. The ages of the victims are 22 and 25. Received 10, 12.25 a.m.
Johnston has succumbed to his selfinflicted injuries. His wife is not in a serious condition.
