ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
MOTOR-CYCLE ACCIDENT. An accident, which was fortunately not attended by serious results, occurred at Okato on Monday evening about 7 o'clock. Messrs. B. C. Emery arid 11. W. Lightband, riding on a motor-cycle with a side seat, crashed into a motor-waggon on the hill near the dairy factory. Mr. Emery sustained injuries to his head, and Mr. Lightband escaped with a few bruises. Mr. Emery was thrown clear of the waggon and was picked up in an insensible condition arid carried to the factory. Dr. Home was telephoned for. Mr. Emery recovered consciousness before the doctor arrived, and, having been attended to, was driven back to town in the doctor's motor. An idea of the force of the collision may be gained from the fact that the steering gear of the waggon was broken by the impact. It Is alleged that neither party had their lamps alight. Mr. Emery is doing well, and is apparently not very much the worse for his misadventure, and hopes to be around again in a few days.
