J After two days of bright sunny weaI ther tlie x'.oiiditions changed back to real { winter on Saturday morning. l A sharp j fall of the barometer indicated the ap- | proach of westerly weather, and before ! daybreak there was just a hint of a nor'j wester, but the wind blew up from the j south-west and the temperature fell I rapidly. There were heavy showers of rain and sleet during the morning, and just at noon came a light fall of snow, too light to lie. The modest snowstorm i lasted about twenty minutes and gave place to rain, but at intervals more snow fell, and shortly after one o'clock the flakes came big and thick and fast, j However, this storm also soon ceased. : The weather remained cold throughout | the afternoon.' with frequent light falls ; of snow. Later in the evening heavier falls occurred.
