Our old friend Miss Maggie Moore is [billed to appear at Stratford Town Hall .to-morrow night in "Mrs. McSween-ey." This fun-provoking piece is in th« hands of excellent talent, which should be rewarded by a good house. Cows are coming in freely in some districts. The creameries are re-opening. Farmers are replenishing supplies of milk buckets, strainers, and ko on. The Taranaki Hardware Go. advertises in this issue that everything in the way of dairymen's hardware is obtainable' at their Stratford warehouse (formerly Sidney Ward and Co.) at lowest prices. BERNARD'S PICTURES
The Stratford picture-going public are well pleased with "Victoria Cross," the great film which introduces the "Charge of the Light Brigade" and other incidents of the Crimean War. The sentimental vein is strong throughout, and the union of the lovers at the conclusion of the picture is no less stirring a scene than that of the decoration of the hero by her late Majesty Queen Victoria. The drama is powerfully played, and the cinematography splendid throughout. "Arrah-na-Pogue," Dion Boueieault's great Irish drama, is so well known and so popular as to need no introduction or praise from us. Considerable interest attacihe-s to the ecenios, in which are screened views of the Far East, glimpses of Italian lake scenery, some of the most beautiful in the world. The programme includes some highly hilarious eomic films, and the present' bill is un- \ doubtedly one of the best that Mme. Bernard ha.s presented.
