Four -hundred members of the Dressmakers' Union struck in a Brooklyn Factory on account of the profanity of the foreman of the male employees. Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema's estate has been proved at £59,000. TROPICAL MEDICINE. London, July 31. Mr. Austen Chamberlain presided ove-r. a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce to obtain £ 1.00,000 to extend the London School of Tropical Medicine. Of this amount £28,000 was subscribed.
