THE WAIHI STRIKE.
WELLINGTON ASSISTANCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Tuesday. The Thorndon branch of the Society of Railway Servants voted £lO from its funds, and decided to circulate subscription lists among its members to assist the strikers at Waihi and the men locked out at Reefton. The meeting was a large one and unanimous in supporting the resolution, the feeling being that while they do not wish to associate themselves with the causes that led to a deadlock they felt that as unionists they should support their comrades financially.
