THE RUGEN FATALITY.
COLLAPSE OF A PIER. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Berlin, July 29. People at Kiigen, while watching the battle fleet, made.a rush towards an incoming steamer at the landing-stage, and the pier collapsed. One hundred and fifty persons were precipitated into the water. A number of bluejackets and officers jumped in and rescued many. Twenty-one bodies have been recovered, hut it is feared others were submerged in the ruins.
