ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A MOTOR-CYCLE FATALITY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. A young man named Alexander Kelly, who, while riding a motor-cycle, collided with a tramcar„ died at the hospital today without regaining consciousness. The base of his skull was fractured, and his leg was broken in two places. A BODY IDENTIFIED. Gisborne, Monday. The body of the young man discovered at Waikanae Creek has been identified as that of Ivan McDonald, a shearer recently working at Ruakitura station. He came into town on Saturday, July 20, and was last seen on Wednesday last at 9 p.m. How he got into the creek is a mystery. Deceased was a native of Australia, aged 28.
Gisborne, Last Night. The man found drowned in the Waikanae Creek has been known locally as Ivan McDonald, but his real name is Robert Warren Lang.
CARBOLIC ACID POISONING. Auckland, Monday. Lottie Oliveson was admitted to' the hospital in an unconscious state as the result of carbolic acid poisoning on Saturday riight. She has since regained consciousness. DEAD BODY FOUND. Auckland, Monday. A dead body, supposed to be that of Samuel Wadsworth, a sailor who was washed off the scow Eva on June 30, was found at Motutapu beach. WOMAN'S SUDDEN DEATH. Auckland, Monday. Mary Jane Whittingham,, aged 49, a married woman, resident at Wellington 1 street, died suddenly after a coughing | fit.
