STORMY WEATHER.
FLOODS AT MASTERTON. By Telegraph —Press Association. Masterton, Friday. Heavy rain again set in last night and continues. The rivers are again rising, and another flood is expected. Reports from the back country state that many sheep have been drowned or smothered in slips. It is the worst winter and the heaviest rain for thirty years.
CANTERBURY'S TROUBLES. Christchurch, Friday. The weather continues wet and wintry. The land is waterlogged and low land is flooded, but with a normal spring Canterbury will reap the benefit later.
RAILWAY INTERRUPTION. Levin, Friday. A washout at Waikanae caused bv the overflow from a creek delayed all ; trains from and to Wellington via VManawatu to-day. Repairing gangs are }at work, and it is anticipated that a 5 clearance will be made by noon and traffic resumed. The weather throughI out the district continues gloomy, with ! snow and rain, which, with floods on jthe low-lying lands, is proving detri- ! mental to young stock especially.
