IMPERIAL POLITICS.

THE INSURANCE ACT. By Cable—Press Association—Copyrigkt. London, July 21. The Medical Association's resolution, cabled yesterday, does not prevent services at sanatoria when the arrangements are satisfactory. Mr. Lloyd George ihas expressed his willingness to ask Parliament for £4,000,000 per annum extra to satisfy the doctors.

THE LAND QUESTION. ALLEGED CABINET DISSENSIONS. Received 26, 10.25 p.m. London, July 26. Mr. Ure, speaking at Crewe, said that no member of the Government nor any practical Liberal was a single-taxer. A committee of enquiry was investigating the proposal for a tax on land in order to relieve local rates and remit the taxes on tea and sugar. The Unionist papers reiterate the rumor of serious differences between Mr. Lloyd George and his colleagues, though the Cabinet has agreed at present to maintain a united face.

The Pall Mall Gazette says that the Cabinet is considering how much of Mr. Lloyd George's land policy can safely be adopted. The newspapers comment on Mr. Churchill's gradual whittling of the 60 per cent, margin of superiority in Dreadnoughts demanded by him in his speech on the estimates.
