THE LAND QUESTION. ALLEGED CABINET DISSENSIONS. Received 26, 10.25 p.m. London, July 26. Mr. Ure, speaking at Crewe, said that no member of the Government nor any practical Liberal was a single-taxer. A committee of enquiry was investigating the proposal for a tax on land in order to relieve local rates and remit the taxes on tea and sugar. The Unionist papers reiterate the rumor of serious differences between Mr. Lloyd George and his colleagues, though the Cabinet has agreed at present to maintain a united face.
