A TERRITORIAL FINED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Thursday. William Mclntyro, 19 years of age, against whom judgment was given for a fine of 10s for failing to attend parade, appeared before the court this morning on a judgment summons. He pleaded inability to pay, and said he would not deny that he might have said to his mother in joke that he would sooner go to gaol than pay. He confessed having a grudge against service, through not having obtained a prize due to him when a volunteer, and announced that he would not pay the fine cheerfully. The magistrate ordered him to pay the sum in weekly instalments, in default 24 hours' imprisonment, ~-... _ , •, REFORM LEAGUE CONFERENCE. Wellington, Thursday. The Reform League conference opens iu Wellington on Saturday, August 3, and will be continued on Monday. One hundred and sixty delegates are expected. Mr. Massey and the Ministers were entertained in the Town Hall on Monday night.
