I . A| FALL OF SNOW. By Telegraph—Press Association. Masterton, Last Night. Very heavy rain has fallen here during the last twenty-four hours, causing the rivers to be swollen and the creeks flooded. A portion of the town was inundated with flood waters this aftersoon, and several shops in the main thoroughfare had to be closed. A number of slips have come down in the country districts, and several roads are blocked for traffic. Since the beginning of the month over ten inches of rain have fallen, which is a record for this part. In Mauriceville fifteen inches have been registered. Stock is likelv to suffer on account of the cold weather", but benefit will be conferred on settlers 'by the destruction of the grass grub and rabbits. Snow fell on the low-lying hills last nigjht.
