AUSTRALIAN SPY.

EIGHTEEN MONTHS' IMPRISONMENT. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, July 23.

In the case under the Official Secrets Act against Angard Graves, enquiries were facilitated by the police answering a woman on the telephone. The woman, imagining she was addressing Graves, revealed important facts. Graves comes from Truro, in South Australia. Counsel produced envelopes so addressed, and Freemason invitations. The man was in possession of a remarkable code, which was not explained. He was found guilty of possessing a code prejudicial to the interests of the State, but not guilty of giving information as to guns. He was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment. He represented himself to be a medical man.
