MAGISTRATE'S COURT
CIVIL BUSINESS. Sitting in his civil jurisdiction at the Magistrate's Court yesterday, Mr. A. Crooke, S.M., gave judgment for the plaintiff by default in the following cases:—F. S. Butler v. C. W. Coker, claim £2 2s 4d, costs, lite; Richard Cock v. Harry Eva, claim £SO 10s, costs £3 19s.
In the case of Karl Suisted v. the bankrupt estate of A. C. Vincent, judgment was given by default for the sum of .£lB and costs £1 10s Gd, and on the application of plaintiff's solicitor (Mr. A. It. Standish) an order was made under section 10 of the Wages Protection and Contractors Liens Act for the payment to the plaintiff of whatever monies are in the hands of the Taranaki County Council due to the estate.
The case in which application was made by A. G. Ingley and Son to take the evidence of A. J. Ingley and J. Ingley regarding the civil claim of Charles Evan Mackay, of Wanganui, against A. J. and E. G. Ingley, of Fitzroy, and Emma Louisa Pawson, for £2OO, was adjourned sine die, to be brought on again at seven days' notice. The claim is for services alleged to be rendered to the defendants by the plaintiff in his capacity as a solicitor.
Byrant and Co., Ltd., of Napier, pro cee-ded against Edward Robson with a judgment summons for £9 Is Od. After being cross-examined by Mr. A. Bewley, the defendant agreed to liquidate the debt in monthly instalments of los. An order was accordingly made, the first payment to be made next month. There •was no default fixed.
