DR. ANDREW LANG. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, July 22. The death is announced of Dr. Andrew Lang, the author.

Andrew Lang. M.A.. D.Litt., Fellow of the Royal British Academy, critic, author, and anthropologist, was born at Selkirk on March 31. 1844, and educated at the Edinburgh Academy, St. Andrew's University, and Balliol College. Oxford, where he gained first classes in Classical Moderations and the Final Schools. In 18S8 he was appointed Gilford lecturer on natural religion at St. Andrew's University. For many years he wrote literary articles for tbe Daily .'sews, and the monthly causeries. "'At the Sign of the Ship," in the old ''Longman's Magazine,"' came from his pen. lie was also the author of numerous works.
