THE MISSING CHILD.
THE MYSTERY UNSOLVED. By Telegraph —Pre«* Association. Christchurch, Last Night,
The little boy Bobbie Smith, who strayed from his father's house in Aldred Street ten days ago, is still missing. The police have scoured Christchurch and followed up numerous clues without tangible result. Constables today were engaged in a vigorous quest for the lost boy, and instructions have been given to men working on the river to keep a sharp look-out for any trace. Inquiries are being made in Napier, Gisborne and Auckland for the lad's mother. It has been ascertained that on the third of this month she left Auckland, ostensibly to visit some friends in Napier, but the police there have so far been unable to find her. It is thought possible that she may have recently been in Christchurch, and that such a visit would perhaps be connected with the boy's disappearance.
