DISTRICT NEWS.
Yn'ARF.A. (From Our Own C«rr#epond«nt.) Mrs. W. McLachlan, who was at one time a resident of this district, recently spent a short holiday here with her bister, Mrs. Clothier. Mr. J. Ram.-ay, the New all road creamery manager, left here on Monday morning for Canterbury, en route for Canada. Mr. ,T. Robinson, the local factory's first assistant, .returned on Saturday from a trip to the East Coast. Two shocks of earthquake w<;re felt here shortly after three o'clock on Wednesday morning. The first one was rather severe, but the other was only slight. Mr. H. Stanton, formerly of this district, is spending a few days here. A quiet wedding took place at the residence of Mr. E. Julian, Bayly road, on Wednesday, the 10th inst, the contracting parties being Miss Lily I*. Julian, second daughter of Air. E. Julian, and Mr. Joseph Faucett, of Pukekohe. The Rev. Mr. Addenbrooke officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a navy blue costume and hat to match, and the bridesmaid, Miss Gladys Julian, sister of the bride, was dressed in cream voile. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. E. Faucett. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a set of furs, and to the bridesmaid a gold bracelet. Mr. and Mrs. Faucett left early in the evening per motor-car for New Plymouth, en route for Stratford, their future home.
