AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
PROSPEROUS DANNEVIRKE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dannevirke, Last Night. The animal meeting of the Dannevirke A. .and P. Association was held on Saturday afternoon. The report showed that tbe society was in a flourishing condition, the membership being considerably increased. There'was a profit of £155 on the year's operations. The credit balance to the profit and loss account was £BOO. The prospects for the ensuing year were favorable. Mr. L. C. Rathbone was elected president. Considerable discussion ensued on the proposal to have a two day show this year. Eventually it was decided that a two day show should be held only in the event of sufficient debentures being subscribed by September 30 next to enable a grandstand to be built on the new show ground in time for the occasion. It is thought- this could be accomplished if energetic steps were taken to raise the necessary money.
