DENTAL CONFERENCE.

STATE INSPECTION. By Telegraph-—Press Association. Wellington, Friday. A deputation from the Dental Conference waited on Mr. Rhodes, Minister of Public Health, to-day and asked that the medical men appointed -by the Government to examine school children should take a course at Otago University to 'equip them for the examination of children's teeth and making statistical records of the same. It also asked for the support of the Minister in carrying on research work amongst the Maoris. Mr. Rhodes promised to refer the matters to his colleagues. He was surprised to hear what the deputation had to say as to the prevalence of dental caries, and as to research , work among the natives, he would certainly give the association his moral support, -and if that body wanted anything further it should see him again.
