The weather is moderating. MOERAKPS ROUGH TRIP. Received 17, 9.25 p.m. Sydney, July 17. The sea has moderated and shipping has been resumed. The Moeraki had a rough passage. Her wireless apparatus was carried away. The carpenter had a narrow escape. A huge sea washed him off the deck. He clung to the rails. He was injured, and was removed to the hospital on arrival.
THE MOERAKPS PASSENGERS. Received 18, 1.15 a.m. Sydney, July 17. • According to passengers by the Moeraki a very rough time was experienced. A mountainous sea broke aboard, damaging some fittings and smashing crockery. Mr. iStudholme, a Canterbury farmer, fell, dislocating an elbow, and a number of other passengers sustained minor injuries.
