In the final of the teams swimming competition Australia won in 10 min. 11 l-ssec., beating America, who were next, by nine seconds, Britain taking 8 •2.5 th seconds longer than America. Britain won the ladies' 400 metres team swimming. Australia did not start. THE FINAL SCORES. AMERICA CHAMPIONS. Received 17, 12.35 a.m. Stockholm, July IG. In the teams swimming match Healy dead-heated with MaeGillivray (America) in the first 200 metres. Champion made ten yards in the second 200 metres, Boardman increased the lead to twenty yards, then Hardwick had a fi,ght with Kanahmoku, against whom he lost in the first 100 metres but recovered in the final 100 with a spurt, confirming the opinion that Kanahmoku is not dangerous beyond 130 metres. Thorpe won the Decathlon, two Swedes being second and third.

In the 8000 metres cross-country event 11. Kohlhmaimen won in 45min. llsec. Anders and Soneke (Swedes) were second and third. Sweden won the team race. In connection with this event Finland was second and Britain third. America won the IGOO metres relay race in 3min. IGsec., France being second in 3min. 20sce., and Britain third in 3min. 23s ec.

The contests at the Stadium are now concluded. The points are:—

America secured 85 points in the track and field events, Finland 20, Sweden 27, and England 15. Lieutenant Lawrence, of the 18 Hussars, was thrown into a, ditch in the horse-riding competition, and sustained concussion of the brain. He is recovering.
