BUSINESS NOTICES.
j In to-day"s issue on page one will he found an advertisement from E. BromIwich and Co., land agents, of Paeroa (Thames Valley). The property offered 'is a really genuine one, and should eomjinand a ready sale. The climate in lOhinenuui is very much milder than experienced in Taranaki, and stock do exceedingly well there. The land for dairying in this part of the Dominion is rapidly coming to the front, and the fact that the Thames Valley Co-operative Dairying Co., Ltd., holds the record for the highest grade of export butter in the Dominion is a fact that cannot be too lightly thought of. Many farms in the vicinity of Paeroa mil "hold their own with any in the famous Taranald I district, and farmers who have settled 'there, after farming for years in Tara|naki, assert that they have done better |in the Thames Valley than if they had remained in Taranaki. High prices as yet are not ruling for land there, as in | other parts, and Wiose in search of farms should take a look at that fertile district before deciding upon settling in other places. The means of communication with Auckland from the Thames Valley are exceptionally good. A boat runs to Paeroa daily, and there is also the train service.
There are splendid opportunities for saving money at Morey's great winter sale. A fresh list of bargains appears in this issue and ladies are urged to shop early.
I A perusal of the list of goods advertised by Alf. M. Skeates, on the first page of this issue, will give all desirous of real bargains in jewellery a small idea [of what value is being offered by him as a result of his purchase of Mr. AshI win's (wholesale jeweller, Auckland) Utock at lis in the £. Having bought |at this extraordinarily low figure, it affords Mr. Skeates the opportunity of retailing at a price that all must realise is exceptional to the jewellery business. Messrs. Gilmour Clarke are advertising on page t\.u of this issue a farm of 75 acres close to New Plymouth, including 18 cows, etc., at £lB per acre. Only £IBO cash is required on the lot. We recommend our readers to inspect this property without delay. Twenty-six patterns of handsome cretonnes, suitable for loose covers, cushions, wardrobe drapes, etc., are now selling tit White and Sons for 5y 3 d per yard. This price only lasts to the end of the sale.
The fame of the Melbourne's wonderful shilling stockings is spreading. Residents of such far-afielcl towns as Marton, Whangarei, Gisborne, Cambridge, Xelson, and even as far south as Invercargill, now send regularly to Taranaki for supplies of this hose.
Ambury's sale is attracting large namblera of people to the centre of the town. The windows are studies in "red and white." The prices are as striking as the bright windows, and the numerous lines at half the usual price should [cause a tremendous clearance. The firm reports having had a good season, and large shipments of spring goods on the water, and any oddments of winter goods have to go regardless of cost.
