SALE OF PEDIGREE CATTLE. On Thursday, 10th inst, Newton King, in conjunction with Messrs. Freeman R. Jackson and Co., at Nukumaru, held a very successful clearing sale of pedigree Jersey and grade dairy cattle on account of Mr. Frank Moore. The attendance was very large and representative, j buyers being present from Woodville, Palmerston North, Wanganui, supplemented by a very strong contingent from Taranaki. The Whole of the stock was in excellent condition, both pedigree and grades, and fully sustained Mr. Moore's reputation as' a breeder. Bidding was keen from start to finish, and excellent prices were realised for all the stock. Prices for the dairying plant and implements were in favor of buyers. The highest price paid for cows was 75gns, obtained for "Prim II." a sixyear daughter of "Mayflower's Magnet," bought by Mr. H. Purdie, of Waitara. ''Poppy II." sired by "Bird's Boy," was also purchased by Mr. Purdie at TOgns. Lamb.—Prices arc %d to %d per lb lower, the decline being chiefly on medium qualities aild heavies. Beef and Mutton.—Prices are unchanged.
