The interim report of the Food Commission recommends that the exclusive right of conducting the metropolitan fish markets be vested in the City Council, and that consignments to private agents for sale in Sydney be not permitted; that the Council should consider the practicability of purchasing fish outright from the catch on the fishing grounds, and re-selling it in the city and suburbs, on such conditions as are deemed expedient.
